    Month: July 2017

“When reclusive, blind violin pedagogue Daniel Jacobus is invited to speak at a seemingly innocuous symposium on Baroque music at a prestigious music conservatory, he has no idea he is about to become enmeshed in an entrenched culture of sexual harassment and its cover-up at the highest levels.

And when a renowned faculty member dies of apparent natural causes, only the curious behaviour of a violin student at Jacobus’s master class is an indication to him that something may be terribly amiss.”

AUTHOR’S NIGHT returns on Wednesday August 30 at 6:30 with one of our most popular writers. Violinist, conductor, composer and author GERALD ELIAS joins us for a third time with his newest DANIEL JACOBUS MYSTERY: SPRING BREAK.

This Author’s Night is unique for a variety of reasons. First, it offers a chance to hear passages from SPRING BREAK, the sixth entry into the Daniel Jacobus series, which is hitting the bookstores on August 1st.

Plus, GERALD ELIAS will offer MUSICAL HIGHLIGHTS of his novels, stepping into the part of his leading character, the violinist DANIEL JACOBUS. If you enjoy fine classical music, in particular the classical violin, you won’t want to miss this event!

AUTHOR’S NIGHT IS A FREE EVENT, OFFERING AN OPPORTUNITY TO ENJOY READINGS AND DISCUSSION FROM LEADING WRITERS IN ALL GENRES. A CASH BAR IS AVAILABLE FOR OUR GUESTS.

    DINNER WITH THE AUTHOR:

The evening continues after the reading is over with DINNER WITH THE AUTHOR. Continue the conversation over cocktails, appetizers, entrees and dessert. All food and beverage is a la carte, and there are no additional charges. We do, however suggest making reservations in advance to insure prompt seating.
