    Month: September 2018

On SUNDAY OCTOBER 28 at 5:30 SUNDAY NIGHT AT THE OPERA begins its sixth complete season under the combined auspices of Stellina and OPERA-ON-TAP. For this special event we welcome the return of one our most  popular, and fun, themes: our ANNUAL HALLOWEEN PARTY!

OPERA-ON-TAP is a group of professional singers and musicians based in Boston. Under the supervision of our Resident Diva, Mezzo Soprano Gina Razon, each cast designs, rehearses and performs a completely unique program comprised of a mixture of classical opera, musicals and song.

The way we see it, Halloween and Opera make perfect companions. Many of the most memorable characters in Opera include witches and warlocks, magicians, supernatural beings, emotional monsters, evil villains, and even the Devil himself.

    Rebecca Teeters, Soprano
    Gina Razón, Mezzo Soprano
    Heather Gallagher, Mezzo Soprano
    Kyle Bejnerowicz, Baritone
    Melanie Rucinski, pianist
Stride la Vampa from Il Trovatore by Giuseppe Verdi
Poisioning Pigeons in the Park by Tom Leher
Poor Unfortunate Souls from The Little Mermaid

Mrs Gross’s Aria from Turn of the Screw by Benjamin Brittain
Pace, pace, mio Dio from La Forza del Destino by Giuseppe Verdi
Csardas from Die Fledermaus by Johann Sebastian Strauss
Toreador from Carmen (the Cowboy version)
    Bessie Bobtail by Samuel Barber

For this vey special evening we’re planning a very special menu. We’ve got a collection of mostly TUSCAN recipes, some with a strong sense of humor, others with a bit of the devil in them. Enjoy!

    PIZZA AL DIAVOLO

    GRAVE DIGGER’S SALAD

ROASTED MUSHROOMS & ITALIAN GREENS PASTA

    SEAFOOD AL’ LIVORNO

MRS. LOVETT’S MEAT PIES (a little Priest, anyone?)

    …and for dessert:

THE GREAT PUMPKIN OLIVE OIL CAKE WITH CREAM CHEESE FROSTING

SEATS FOR SUNDAY NIGHT AT THE OPERA COST $55 PER PERSON, INCLUDING ALL FOOD AND ENTERTAINMENT.  Reservations are required. Please call Stellina in person at 617-924-9475 to insure prompt confirmation.
