Sunday Night at the Opera returns on Sunday March 22 at 5:30 with what promises to be another incredibly popular program. It’s a night of Italian, Italian and more Italian, as the singers of Opera-On-Tap take us on a musical version of a “Roman Holiday.“
It’s no secret that the Italians cast a long shadow over the world of Opera. Verdi, Puccini, Donizetti, Bellini, Rossini, Leoncavallo, Mascagni…the list goes on forever. And that doesn’t even include the non-Italians like Mozart who composed some of their greatest works in the Italian language.
We’ll present a range of the greatest operas ever written, interspersed with songs, movies and musicals, representing the full range of Italy’s musical heritage. Performed, as always, but the professional singers and pianists of Boston’s OPERA-ON-TAP.
PROGRAM
The program for the evening is being prepared, and will be announced soon. Make sure to sign up for our newsletter to receive prompt notification.
The evening will, as usual, consist of three sets of music performed by Opera-On-Tap, mixed with three courses of food served family-style in an informal setting.
“The vibe is casual, the performers up close—no opera glasses needed.” – Improper Bostonian
