Be there on SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 23 at 5:30 when we begin another season of SUNDAY NIGHT AT THE OPERA. We travel musically back to The Old Country with a program devoted to Italian music and food entitled “EVENING AT LA SCALA.”

LA SCALA is the world-famous opera house of Milan, renowned for both the tempestuous personalities that have strode its stage and the many operas that have premiered there. We’ll dip into a veritable treasure trove of music to present a program that will be both exciting and inspiring.

The pressure is on Resident Diva Gina Razon and the professional singers and pianists of Boston’s OPERA-ON-TAP to deliver another amazing evening of song, musicals and opera. Regular patrons will agree with us when we say that they haven’t failed yet to bring the house to its feet.

CAST

Our repertoire includes:  Questo amor vergogna mia  from Edgar, E lucevan le stelle from Tosca, Dal labbro il canto (Fenton’s aria) from Falstaff, E fra quest’ansie from I Pagliacci, Come Scoglio from Cosi fan Tutte, Donde Lieta from La Boheme, Stella del Marinar from La Gioconda, Acerba Volutta from Adriana Lecouvreur, with some other gems thrown in.  It is a mostly Italian program but we will feature a couple of newer pieces as well in a nod to La Scala’s attempts at acknowledging 20th century literature.
