IT’S TIME ONCE AGAIN FOR OUR ANNUAL SEAFOOD DINNER, CO-HOSTED BY KIM MARDEN OF CAPTAIN MARDEN’S SEAFOOD. JOIN US ON WEDNESDAY MAY 3 at 6:30 AS WE PRESENT OUR FIRST-EVER “OYSTER TASTING”, FEATURING A BROAD CROSS-SECTION OF OYSTER RECIPES FROM ALL OVER AMERICA.

Oysters have been an integral part of American history since before the birth of Boston’s Union Oyster House, New York’s Grand Central Oyster Bar and Galatoire’s in New Orleans. They’ve been essential to the commercial success of both east and west coasts, while a factor in the development of our own native cuisine.

On May 3rd we’ll go behind the scenes, tasting the best that the briny deep has to offer, prepared in a variety of ways. Culled from farms and estuaries in the Maritime Provinces, Maryland’s famed Chesapeake Bay, and, of course, our own cold Massachusetts’ waters, you’ll learn some of the diferrences and distinctions between the many varieties, while enjoying a sumptuous tasting menu.

Imagine oysters broiled with the finest smoked Berkshire bacon, or simmered in a creamy broth and topped with delicate puff pastry, or fried until crispy and then accented with a tangy salsa. With their sweet but briny profile they adapt well to a plethora of approaches. Even oyster novices will find something to love.

Joining us once again for our annual seafood dinner is KIM MARDEN of Wellesley’s CAPTAIN MARDENS SEAFOOD. Kim has been Stellina’s fishmonger since Day One, and has always been generous in imparting his knowledge and experience regarding all things aquatic. He’ll not only answer any questions regarding this menu, but he’ll be happy to talk about any other seafood problems or queries you might have.

The evening will consist of a four course tasting menu, interspersed with commentary from both Kim Marden and Chef Marc Bouchard. Cost for this tasting is $40. per person. Reservations are required. Please call the restaurant directly at 617-924-9475 to insure proper confirmation.
